Following the Fuel's third match, a 0–4 defeat against the Houston Outlaws on January 18, Lengyel made homophobic remarks directed at Austin "Muma" Wilmot, a player from the Outlaws who is openly gay, during his personal Twitch stream. Several Kick streamers had essentially gathered to play Call of Duty together.
However, during the in-game banter a few of them used the f-slur while referring to xQc. For context, this comes a. A Reddit community for all things xQc. Popular Twitch streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has reacted to claims made by Forbes that allege he previously had racist, homophobic, and sexually explicit content controversies. This is an interesting topic and I would imagine one that Blizzard is at least ethically invested in. One is about stopping the dumb spam in Twitch chat, this one is about trying to figure out if Xqc is being treated unjustly.
He had the harshest punishment because of past offences, the most recent was when he made homophobic remarks to Muma, of Outlaws, who is openly gay. This whole new trouble for xQc is absurdly moronic though, TriHard is a damn emote, nothing more. I understand the trouble for starting a fight with the casters, even if some of those casters are really abrasive.
He deserved less of a suspension 2 games instead of 4. Monte and Doa have made fun of xQc in skits. Yes, but making xQc say it from what seems like out of the blue has lead to many people not knowing Muma instigated it. My advice to him is stop dramatizing. And people are giving him more courage to do sh!
Ban him for promoting hate!!! I get your point but be careful. Therefore, it does not make any sense to punish him harsher for this reason. They take under consideration prior acts if and only if they are relevant. Does it make sense to take under consideration prior penalties? He will be judged as a murderer, not as a car stealer. Secondly, the first penalty made sense because Muma is openly gay.
Assuming that xQc knew about that, it makes sense to conclude that it was a homophobic attack. The evidence were sufficient to punish him. However, in this incident there is not any solid evidence. The whole punishment is an assumption.
There are no logs, no footage, nothing; even the emoticon is a popular meme. If xqc doesnt care to moderate his behaviour even though he represents a professional league he will continue to have problems. I think he has deserved every punishment he has received up until this one. With this, it is blatantly obvious that the league has decided to set different standards for different people, rather than applying the rules evenhandedly across the board for everyone, and I find that pretty deplorable.
You can view the disciplinary actions taken on our Overwatch League website. Explain to us how Xqc is being treated inconsistently General Discussion. JeanFrancois March 10, , am 1.
